Why Adi Da Used to Rock...

Franklin-jones1

“I have seen that real existence is apart from every kind of seeking.  It is from the beginning radically free of any goal of liberation or salvation.  It is unqualifiedly free, present, active, creative and alive.  I have seen that life need not be tied to seeking and the pursuit of its own nature as a goal.  However, such was not the case with the ancient path, which assumed the dilemma of existence from the beginning. . . .

“The present world, unlike the ancient one, has decided radically for life.  Therefore, its path and its realization must be unqualifiedly alive.  It must not only realize the truth prior to creation, but it must realize the truth of creativity itself.”

--Franklin Jones (Adi Da), The Knee of Listening (1973), pp.158-159

I agree – that quote rocks!
Too bad he doesn't look so good these days – have you seen what Adi Da looks like now?
Integral psychotherapists are responsible to keep an eye on the shadow?  What would happen if top notch shadow-work was systematically integrated into the program of (now all-quadrant) evolutionary enlightenment that y'all are developing there at Foxhollow.  If you'd like to explore this with me, I'm totally game.  I can be pushed to embrace the context of enlightened communication, and y'all can be sure to negate lower views, but include lower structures (rungs in the ladder) in what you are doing.  The views work from the top down (Cohen's top-down psychology) in that the higher views negate or leave behind lower views, but the structures work from the bottom-up and the self climbs from the bottom-up, always.  So it is another case of both/and.  This is, I believe, fairly fresh thinking emerging out of our dialogue with KW a week or so ago.

Would you share with me your off-Zaadz e-mail so we can communicate further about this?

Regards,
Durwin
