A brief history of nobody in particular, loosely in the style of a tabloid article for the sake of manipulating your attention:

Samsaric Origins!

Born and raised in California till I was nearly 14, my family and I moved to the dismal, rainy Seattle area in 1994, a few days after Kurt Cobain killed himself there (pure coincidence). Over the next few years, I listened to alternative rock, aspired to study UFOs for a living, and perfected the art of teenage angst. That is, until one ordinary morning in Driver's Ed class in November 1996, when I spontaneously scrawled “What Am I??!!!” onto a piece of notebook paper – thereby upping my teen angst to a full-on existential depression and setting me on a do-or-die quest for spiritual liberation…

Stunned!

A few years later, when I was a 19-year-old college dropout, self-styled Zen Buddhist, and working the graveyard shift for minimum wage at a high-stress, noisy, inky newspaper printing press, my idol, hero, and favorite author, Ken Wilber, wrote to me out of the blue and asked me to be a founding member of his Integral Institute. I still don't know how the hell that happened. Must've been some bizarre kosmic karmic anomaly.

Destined!

A couple of months later, in June 2000, a week before I turned 20, I finally met a spiritual teacher I'd been interested in for a while: Andrew Cohen. After forty-five minutes talking to him, one on one, at a booksigning in Vancouver, BC, I knew beyond a doubt that my fate was sealed…

Just Like Heaven!

Nowadays I'm a full-time writer/editor for Cohen's quarterly magazine What Is Enlightenment?, a student of his teachings of Evolutionary Enlightenment, married to a wonderful fellow student named Lovena, living at the main EnlightenNext residential center in western Massachusetts, and striving to subvert the egoic status quo, 24/7, in every way I can.
